Macmillan's funding for this project delivers something that local communities have
been actively calling for over the course of many years. It is something of a promise
fulfilled by Macmillan, and a testimony to the positive relationships and level of trust
which are now being built between Macmillan and the local communities we work for.
Jessica Timmins
Macmillan Partnership Manager
With plans for a formal launch in the Autumn, the
project will deliver a blueprint for how Macmillan
can work more closely with communities at a
grassroots level to help address the issue of
health inequality more broadly in the future.

It is so important to create opportunities for a full and frank discussion between
Macmillan Cancer Support and the communities we serve - it is the only way we will be
able to fully understand and address the health inequalities that exist within cancer care.
Meeting the challenge of health inequality head on is set to become a foundation
stone of Macmillan's emerging new strategy and mission - and this meeting felt like
an exciting step forward in shaping how Macmillan will deliver this work in the future.
